What are your hours of operation?

We are open 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday –Friday.

Where is the center located?

What ages do you serve?

6 weeks to 12 years old

Are there forms that I will need to complete for enrollment?

Yes, the Director will provide you with the forms needed at enrollment time.

Do you take childcare subsidy?

Yes.

Do you take part-time?

Unfortunately, we only offer full time care. Please contact our Director with questions about your schedule needs.

Do you take drop-in or occasional care?

In unique circumstances, we can work with one-time situations. This must be worked out with the director.

Do you offer an extended leave option for summers, maternity or illness?

Yes. The time period must be longer than one month and you will be required to pay 25% of your weekly tuition cost.

When is a payment due??

Payment is due prior to the upcoming weeks attendance. Payments are accepted weekly and can be paid with cash, check or bank transfers. Refer to your enrollment agreement for exact charges and payment agreements. We encourage auotomatic payment from your bank account with no fee through our Bright Wheel app.

Do you charge for holidays when the center is closed?

Yes, as staff continue to be paid during these days off.

What is your policy on late pickups?

Late pick-up is not a normal program option and will only be considered as an exceptional occurrence. A $20 late fee will be charged for every fifteen minutes that a parent is late. Late fees will automatically be billed to your account.

What meals do you provide?

Breakfast, morning snack, Lunch and afternoon snack are offered on full days of attendance.

What is your illness policy?

Children must be free of fever, vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours; have been treated with an antibiotic for 24 hours; or provide a physician’s note stating that the child is no longer contagious before they return to Stick Creek Kids. Any temperature 100.4 and over is considered a fever. More details can be found in the Family Handbook.

Do you accept children with disabilities?

Stick Creek Kids provides equal educational opportunities that are available for all children, without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, disability, or parent/provider political beliefs, marital status, sexual orientation or special needs, or any other consideration made unlawful by federal, state or local laws. Educational programs are designed to meet the varying needs of all students. Our center welcomes services for students with disabilities that are provided in the child’s natural surroundings by the Wood River Public Schools and Early Intervention.

What are the qualifications for staff?

SCK follows the Nebraska DHHS Handbook for childcare professionals hiring guidelines. Feel free to call the Center to learn more.

How do I apply?

You can apply through a link on our website! Notices of job openings will be provided locally, on Indeed, posted on our Facebook page and on our website. We are always looking for subs!

What does learning look like at Stick Creek Kids??

Stick Creek Kids focuses on teaching children through encouraging creativity, supporting experiential learning, and building relationships with others. We utilize Creative Curriculum and have a Spanish language learning in each classroom as well. Daily routine/schedules will be provided for each age group and families will be kept informed of the learning themes.

Do you transport children to and from Wood River Schools? Or provide any transportation?

The Wood River School district will provide transportation between SCK and the school for our Public Pre-School and Before School Care families. We are unable to provide transportation ourselves.
